cognitively

To cognitively is to think about something in a logical way. When you cognitively think about a problem, you try to figure out all of the possible solutions.

disenchanted

To be disenchanted is to be unhappy or disappointed with something. When you're disenchanted with a job, you might not enjoy your time there or you might not feel like you're making a lot of progress.

prefrontal

The prefrontal cortex is located in the front of the brain. It is responsible for a lot of your cognitive abilities, such as decision making, planning, and problem solving.

Clobbered is to hit someone very hard and often. When someone is clobbered, they often have bruises or other injuries.

When something is quiet, it is not as loud or active as it usually is. Sometimes when something is quiet, it is because it is not being heard or because it is being hidden.
